The Holocaust Memorial at Lands End consists of eleven life-size sculpture of Nazi death camp victims. The impact of this memorial is to represent the struggles of the Jewish population while also serving as a reminder of the tragedy that came from World War II. Additionally, this site represents how the Jewish population in San Francisco, California was growing at a quick pace and how they rose to be a prominent part of the community and thus the memorial is a way of remembering how the Jewish population was able to make a home in the United States.


Brooklyn, New York
The Jewish Center of Coney Island created a social and cultural hub for the Jewish population in New York who wanted to celebrate their heritage. The programs run when this building was constructed were modeled after similar Christian associations of the time such as the YMCA. Thus, The Jewish Center of Coney Island was a place where there was a balance between religion, school, and community without secular boundaries.
