The garden reflected the culture of Cleveland’s Croatians, Serbians, and Slovenians. They had conflicted pasts and this garden symbolized peace between the groups.  

The third worst mining disaster in the state's history caused the deaths of 119 people. Many of those people were immigrants from Poland, Italy, and Greece.

Mine disaster where 361 coal miners, many Italian immigrants, perished in a mine in Monongah, West Virginia on the 6th of December in the year 1907.

This monument is by Irish sculptor John Behan, and is a symbol of the positive impacts of Irish immigration in both the United States and beyond. It was a gift from Ireland to the United Nations.

Acknowledges the 13,732 people who fled Europe to escape persecution by the Nazis during World War II.

This monument commemorates the Chinese immigrants and their experiences as they came through the Angel Island Immigration Station. It reads: "Leaving their homes and villages, they crossed the ocean only to endure confinement in these barracks. Conquering frontiers and barriers, they pioneered a new life by the Golden Gate."

This statue was erected to celebrate the immigration of Italians to America.  

The Great Famine, a period of mass starvation, disease, and emigration in Ireland between 1845-1852. Sometimes referred to as the Irish Potato famine because approximately two fifths of the population in Ireland were reliant on the potato. When blight struck the potato crops of Ireland approximately 1 million people died, and a million more emigrated from Ireland.
