Irish Famine Memorial


The Irish Famine Memorial is a collection of two statues that depict a family suffering from the Great Famine in Ireland, and another prosperous family who migrated to the U.S.

This statue commemorates the 150 year anniversary since the height of the Great Famine. The Great Famine led to a great migration of Irish people to the U.S. 

Physical Aspects: 

The memorial depicts two groups. The first is a family that appears ragged and starving, having suffered from the Irish Potato Famine. The second group is prosperous and well-fed, having found prosperity after moving to the United States.
