Armenian Culture Garden
The Armenian Culture Garden is a memorial dedicated to the Armenian people who immigrated from Armenia to the United States, specifically Cleveland, in the early 1900s. The statue in the middle of the garden, the Alphabet Monument, honors those who had historical or cultural accomplishments that contributed to the Armenian nation.
The Armenian Cultural Garden was created to celebrate the distinctive identity of the Armenian people. The "vesica piscis" shape is a sacred geometric symbol representing Christ which symbolizes the conversion of Armenia as the first Christian nation. The Alphabet Monument is meant to symbolize the rough history of the Armenian people and the natural landscape of Armenia and the Caucasus Mountains.
The Armenian Garden is a grassy, park area shaped in the form of a "vesica piscis." The garden includes the Alphabet Monument, a statue of staggering brown granite blocks with characters from the Armenian alphabet on them.
