Arab American National Museum


The Arab American National Museum (AANM) is the first and only museum in the world dedicated to honoring Arab American history and culture. The museum strives to educate people about "the shared experiences of immigrants and ethnic groups" and to celebrate the diversity represented in the U.S. The museums mission statement is "The Arab American National Museum documents, preserves and presents the history, culture and contributions of Arab Americans."

The AANM honors Arab Americans, including U.S. immigrants and refugees from Arab nations. 

Physical Aspects: 

The museum has three permanent exhibits. The first features contributions of the Arab civilization to society such as science, math, and architecture. The second exhibit focuses on Arab Americans and their experiences in America. This exhibit displays documents and artifacts that educate museum-goers about the immigration process. The museum also has a permanent art exhibit displaying work by Arab and Arab American artists. In addition to these permanent exhibits, the museum also features several temporary exhibits at a time.
